Found out the new Oasis album is coming out May 16th. Hopefully it’s a decent album. The last album was solid, though light on lasting appeal. Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants was a pretty big let down. All 4 band members will be contributing songs to this album, so it should be an interesting mix of stuff. You would really think Oasis would be a little more prolific given they now have 4 songwriters in the band, but that’s not the case. It will have been almost 3 years since their last album. I would say I’m bitter, but it’s not that I even care that much anymore. Oasis will always have a place in my heart, but they aren’t going to be turning the world on it’s ear with earth-shattering music anymore. I can deal with that. Once you get past the fact that Oasis is never going to be as big as they were in 1995 and that most people will never give Oasis’ music the appreciation is deserves because they don’t like Wonderwall, you’ll sleep a lot better at night. People will look back on Oasis in 10 years and see what they actually did and how great it was.
