I just got out of a meeting at work and as usual it was entirely
unenlightening and totally devoid of anything relevant to my existence
on the planet. This has become a regular thing at work. Now
my job has never entailed alot of meetings, so I suspect it has to do
with the fact I’ve not been conditioned endure such boredom as I’m sure
many others out there have. The constant meetings are a result of
alot of change going on at work. We are in the process of having
a new press being installed, and having a new workflow for processing
jobs. Now nothing has been implemented that is in the least bit
relevant to my job, yet I have to sit through these hour+ long
meetings. Just gives me that ‘I feel like my head is going to
cave in if this meeting doesn’t end soon’ kinda feeling.
Managed to keep it on the downlow pretty much this weekend. We
ended up staying in most of the time and ended up having an inadvertant
party on Saturday night at my place. Just ended up talking to a
couple people and no one had anything going on, so Corina invited some
peoples over. Then next thing you know there was a whole whack of
people in my apartment. It was cool shit. Corina decided to
polish off the wine I had at my place and ended up praying to the
porcelaine gods. Good times. We went out for breakfast at
Country Grill on Sunday morning. It was pretty good. My
only beef was with the eggs. I only eat scrambled eggs. All
other forms of egg are pretty much not my cup of tea. Now I can’t
recall a place I have ever eaten breakfast at where they actually make
good scrambled eggs properly. It’s always this yellow rubbery
crap instead of proper fluffy scrambled eggs. It’s really not
rocket science to be able to make eggs.
Now in a Superblues update, we won our semi-final game to move on to
the expected showdown with our arch-rivals, Cambridge Youth. We
were actually losing for only the second time this whole season.
I think altogether we’ve been behind about 12 minutes the whole season,
which is fucking fantastic. We overcame the 1-0 deficit to win
6-2 to advance. It kills me I can’t play, but I’m happy that
things are going well.
I have a meeting with a surgeon this week who is basically going to
confirm that I need surgery on my ACL. I don’t think I ever
mentioned it in blog form, but my doctor got the MRI results back and
it confirmed I had a fully torn ACL. Once I get surgery, it’s a
6-9 month recovery period, so I am fucked basically for the next year
dependant on when I get my surgery scheduled. I got fitted last
week for one of those robo-knee braces, so that should be fun, how you
say? On a bun?
