I just had something hit me about the whole concept of blogging. I was blogging back in 1997. I used to have a geocities website
when I was first learning how to make websites. It was a very crude and rudimentary site called Wedge’s Hangar Bay. I had one
of those pages that just had a bunch of crap all in one place, so this website mainly dealt with stuff I was interested in at the time, mainly being Star Wars, the Star Wars Collector Card Game and Oasis. Another section I created was something called Wedge’s Ramblings. I would say it was a precursor to the idea of a blog, as this page housed whatever I felt like ranting about. Now I recall talking to friends about the idea, and they thought it was stupid. Back then there was no blogger, so it was cumbersome to do, as everything basically was handcoded by me back then. I gave up on the idea about 5 rants in when I realized that no one was going to read my opinions anyways and it was too much of a pain in the ass to do. Now, looking back, this is what everyone on the internet is doing now with their blogs, letting the world know what’s on their mind.

My friend Jordan will be dropping off the new Star Wars book, Revenge Of The Sith for me to read this week. I can’t wait. I’ve
approached the recent Star Wars offerings differently each time. The Phantom Menace I shielded myself from any knowledge of the plot of the movie. A lot of my friends knew, but I refused to let them ruin it for me. When Attack Of The Clones came out, I decided to see what it would be like from the other side, so I read the book in advance of seeing the movie and found I enjoyed the experience much more. It enabled me to focus on the movie and what was going on on-screen instead of decoding the story as I went. You could also anticipate scenes before they even come, which I thought was awesome. I’m looking forward to seeing the new movie and generally geeking out, as I haven’t done that in awhile.
