I was reading this
article about Barry Bonds and I came up with a theory.  Everyone
has heard of one of baseball’s most famous myth, the Curse Of The
Bambino. The premise is that in 1918 the Boston Red Sox traded ace
pitcher Babe Ruth to the New York Yankees after their World Series
conquest that year.  The Yankees then in turn made the power
hitting Ruth an outfielder and he went on to be the most prolific home
run hitter of all time.  The Red Sox didn’t win a World Series
until 2004, 86 years later.  Now the curse was broken and everyone
did their best to discount the fact there ever was a curse.  Now I
think that old Babe finished his grudge with the Red Sox from beyond
the grave because he had a new target to curse.  Barry Bonds,
alleged ‘roid maniac and general fraud(in my opinion), has climbed
within view of his standing of second on the all time list.  I
think that Babe Ruth has transferred his curse from the Red Sox to
Barry Bonds’ knee.  I have used my vast photoshop skills to
illustrate this point below.

Red Sox/Ruth/Bonds

Now Barry has had 3 surgeries on his knee this year that have kept him
from playing at all this year.  If you look at the big picture,
Bonds turns 41 this summer and is on the backend of his career,
especially given he has probably had to give up the ‘roids given the
new testing policy Major League Baseball has put in place.  If the
curse was placed on Barry Bonds’ knee, then really all it would have to
do is keep him out this year and odds are he would just retire given
how much trouble he’s had with recovering from this problem.
Smart thinking Babe.  Barry Bonds is an ingrate fraud, so I hope
he doesn’t get the chance to pass you on the all time list.
