The new Coldplay comes out today, and I have to say, it’s tripe.
Alot of the album takes what worked on their hit single ‘Clocks’, and
spreads it out across an entire album.  Now I liked thier first
album Parachutes, and I think that will be their legacy.  A Rush
of Blood To The Head was rather self indulgent.  It kinda blows my
mind that Coldplay has risen to the levels they have.  Chris
Martin recently stated that Coldplay wants to be bigger then Mozart
WTF?  It’s statements like that that got Oasis in trouble for
being over egotistical.  This is Coldplay’s third album.
This is where the backlash starts.  People always love you to
start, then turn on you eventually.  When your record is holding
the hopes of a record label to make their projected sales profits for
the quarter, it’s not really about the music anymore.  I’ve read
alot about a campaign to fuck over EMI by downloading the albumClick here to download the album yourself.

Chris Martin has become a cartoon character.  He goes on about his
charity causes like a bootleg Bono.  Personally I hate when people
use their status to push their own personal agendas.  I don’t pay
$60 to go to a concert to hear you go on about fair trade and all that
other BS.

Anyhow, Oasis has yet another #1 album
in the UK.  I’m happy for the boys.  Hopefully they have a
fair showing here in Canada.  I think they might given they’ve
been in pretty heavy rotation around here and they’ve been featured in
a Molson Canadian contest which featured Lyla in the commercial, and if
there is one thing Canadians like, it’s beer, so it might work out for
the band.
