Apparently the NHL and the Players association have reached a tentative agreement. Talk about having to bend over and take it. The players lost so badly in this battle it’s rediculous. It really makes me wonder why this exercise was even needed. The players union refused to believe the truth, apparently heeding Oasis’ advice, about revenues that they lost a whole season over it. Now they’re paying the price for a lost season now that there is even less revenue to deal with when factoring in the weakened support the sport will suffer as a result of all this.
I think the biggest thing I’m happy about is the fact the Senators built their team properly all along and have lots of young talent under contract with the team. They should be able to hit the ground running when things start up again, given their roster will still be mostly intact. And one thing can be assured of this coming season. The Leafs will still not win the cup.
