Today when driving past gas station, I was infuriated at the prices of the gas. Now this is nothing new. Everyone is pissed off at the current state of the price of gas. It’s outrageous and entirely unjustified. That aside, what made me so mad was to see the local UPI $.10 more expensive then the Esso down the street. Now onto itself it doesn’t seem like much until you realize that UPI sells gas with more ethanol content then regular gas stations. Now for those who don’t know, ethanol is essential a component of the gas that is made up of corn. UPI trumpets that they are a more environmental friendly gasoline, which would seem to be true given a percentage of their gas is made up of a renewable source in corn. Wait a second. When the fudge was there a corn shortage recently? I know there can’t be much of one given I’ve seen many a roadside vendor selling it by the dozen in the last month. So I ask myself, why the hell is gas that isn’t even made entirely from gasoline $.10 more then conventional gas? There is no justification for this whatsoever. So given this current climate of gasoline related ass violation, remember there are companies like fucking UPI that are sticking it to you even more then it would appear.

Edit: I just checked the website for Sunoco which owns UPI. They had a discussion forum on the site, which has subsequently been closed. Bet I have an idea why an area where free speech can be used to express views might have been closed. Amusing to say the least.
