I just gorged myself at the table to Dodge today, on this Thanksgiving in the US of A. My Old Kentucky Blog’s year end list is pretty awesome and features lots of downloadable goodies to enjoy. It’s like my iPod had a turkey dinner.
Today definitely makes me wish I had taken today off. A guy I work with takes US Thanksgiving off every year so he can watch football. It’s such a great scheme. I’ve always wanted to do it, but always forget to book it. I’ve always thought the US had Thanksgiving done right. Having 2 days off during a work week is just plain awesome. Put 2 big NFL football games and some parades on TV to keep the people happy while enjoying large amounts of turkey, then open the doors of the stores for the people to buy ludicrously cheap items in the leadup to Christmas. It seems so genius. While I can’t say I give the USA props for too many things, I’ll give it some big kudos for Thanksgiving.

In the hysteria that was the launch of the Xbox 360, you find scammers, and those who get willingly scammed. How stupid do you have to be to buy an Xbox 360 box for $810? Anyone who deals on eBay should really be aware of the first rule of eBay. Read the description carefully. There are so many little catches to an eBay listing that you can get snagged on it isn’t funny. I’ve been caught once or twice before, thinking I was getting a great deal only to find I was getting jerked around with shipping or payment method issues. But to be as stupid as to spend $810 on something that clearly says you’re paying for a box is beyond dumb. Well, maybe not. Maybe he just liked the design of the box so much he thought he must have it to put in his gallery of other video game system boxes.
