So far it’s been a quiet week in my neck of the woods, seemingly like a pre-birthday lull. Hopefully my birthday works out a little better then last year. I have a scheme that involves playing LaserQuest, then inbibing alcohol, so hopefully I can manage it. As with last year I’m starting to come down with a cold, right on cue, though I’ll probably be able to fight it off. I bagged off work yesterday afternoon because I was feeling like crap and didn’t have any work to do, so I took the opportunity to revisit Revenge Of The Sith. Now as you might recall, I had quite a bit of venom reserved for this film after seeing the first time in theatres. So I gave it another chance. I got the DVD for Christmas and hadn’t watched it up until now. With an open mind I watched the movie and can say I borderline enjoyed it. I fell asleep for a bit during the middle, but for the most part I liked it. I found the music seemed to really guide the story and dictate the subtle nuances that Lucas couldn’t get out of the acting and special effects. I know this has been true for all the Star Wars films, but John Williams score seemed to go above and beyond in this one and seemed more apparent to me hearing it through my surround sound system instead of the theatre speakers. So now I have to take upon the big task, taking a day and watching all the Star Wars movies back to back.
So given I’ve been a little lax this week, here’s a couple of links to tide you over.
Automated fast-food ordering? Is this really a good idea? Old people already take 15 minutes using an ATM, can’t imagine how bad the lines would be for them ordering their small coffees.
Here’s a pretty cool intelligence test. It’s devilishly simple and hard at the same time. I managed a 24 on it.
And given the Star Wars talk, I was quite dismayed that there was no national day of grieving or moments of silence over the news Owen Lars died. Peace the spork out, guess he couldn’t evade the Stormtroopers forever.
