I somehow managed to entirely miss the Oscars and everything that went with it last night. I didn’t even hear the results until just now. I think it’s funny that Crash won for Best Picture. All the talk about Brokeback Mountain and the Academy voters got cold feet over a movie featuring gay cowboys. I think this makes 3 years in a row that a movie that I had actually watched beforehand won(Return of the King, Million Dollar Baby). I can only assume this means I have award winning taste in movies.

This weekend we started a round of house sitting for my parents. My parents and sister have fled the country to sunny Florida, though the trip didn’t quite get off on the right foot. They left town at 2:30 for a 5pm flight. I get a call at my apartment at 3:45 from my Dad telling me that they had forgotten their passports at home and they needed me to go to their house, grab them, then drive them to the airport. Now when making a checklist before travelling isn’t that the 1-A with a star(*) item on your list to make sure you have? Either way, they’re my parents, so I’ll let them off the hook for it this time. We managed to make it to the airport in 35 minutes which was pretty gawddamn impressive. So with them out of the country Corina and I were left take care of Wally and Clyde, my dogs, for the week until my sister gets home next weekend.

Warm Fiddy

On Saturday night Corina and I went to a Stag and Doe for a couple of friends of ours. It was most definitely a good time. The theme of the night seemed to be drinking ghetto beer. So many a Labatt 50, Old Vienna and Labatt Crystal were consumed. I can officially say I am no longer an old man beer virgin. Hopefuly Jen and Jeff raised lots of money for their wedding.
