Is the world on crazy pills? I think it’s highly plausible. While we know TV has become very touch and go in the last couple of years with the advent of reality television as a mainstay in the weekly schedule. The latest fad in reality television seems to be the celebrity shows. Dancing with the Stars seemed to have started it and it’s only gotten worse since. People are obsessed with celebrity, as is pretty evident given there are now 57 daily celebrity news shows on every night. I think every channel now has their own show on at 7pm every night.

Now using the idea that people love celebrities, it seems the networks have taken this idea to whole new levels with the latest crop of programming. Who green-lighted an idea like Skating With Celebrities? Now the scary part isn’t that someone actually green-lighted it, it’s more that people are actually watching these shows. NBCs latest blockbuster primetime offering is Celebrity Cooking Showdown. It seems you can pay celebrities to do anything now(not to say this isn’t anything new). How long before we get to see Celebrity Bingo and Crochet With The Stars?
