I’ve heard this beer commercial on the radio recently put out by Kokanee and it irritates me each time. It’s extolling how their beer is made in the serene quiet of the Rockie Mountains of BC, while Coors Light, a beer that claims to be a Rockie Mountain beer is brewed in the hustle, bustle of Toronto. Now the idea itself seems kinda quaint, but I ask myself, who is in the Beer Store thinking to themselves “I need a real mountain beer”? How is it that Kokanee thinks that when weighing the pros and cons of buying beer that a beers level of “mountain-ness” factors into the decision? I mean, if it were truly authentic maybe it would have mountain goat hair right in the bottle, but I’ve had a Kokanee and found no such authentic mountain indicator. I want to taste the mountain goat in my mountain beer!Kokanee
