This weeks rendition of Free Music Friday sends us up the 401 eastbound to check out Peterborough’s The Scene. This 3 piece started only last year and has gone from playing to crowds of 4 to playing showcase events like North By Northeast in Toronto within the span of a year. The bands sound mixes in the sound of early 90′s British music scene, resulting in a solid sound sonically and backed up with quality lyrics. The band are currently working on their debut album and have managed to make it to the semi-finals of the UBL Ultimate Band competition in the rock category, so I’m sure the band wouldn’t mind if you threw a vote or two their way. The band seems to have a solid foundation to work from and I expect we’ll hear more from them down the line.
