Stereogum just posted an awesome little offering called OK X: A Tribute to OK Computer. The whole compilation features re-imaginings of the album, track for track, by the likes of John Vanderslice, Cold War Kids, Mobius Band and more. In taking a listen I think instantly the most amusing track is Fitter Happier. This was the first track I wanted to listen to, mainly because the original featured the “Fred”, one of the Macintosh’s iconic text-to-speech computer voices, so I was interested in seeing how that would turn out. The song was re-envisioned as if were some dialogue from a 1970′s Blacksploitation movie by Samson Dalonoga. It definitely needs to be heard to be believed.
