New Vancouver Canucks Jerseys
I don’t want to turn this blog into a microanalysis of every new NHL jersey that gets introduced, but I had to comment on this. Vancouver introduced their new uniforms to the public today, and all I can say is ew! Vancouver has long been the San Diego Padres of the NHL, never wanting to stick with a given colour scheme for too long. Now they have doubled back on themselves, going back to the colours the team sported during their initial time in the league. The funny thing about the graphic above is that they point out all sorts of justifications for the design, yet they didn’t even bother to address the mess that is their Orca logo. I think the jersey would look good if it weren’t for the Vancouver written above the Orca logo. Trevor Linden New Canucks JerseysI find writing the city name just seems to defeat the whole purpose of an identifying logo. You can have it one way or the other, but not both. It’s alright to go retro with your jerseys, but at least do it right, like the Boston Bruins did, instead of sampling from 4 different eras to make one logo. Trevor Linden(left) looks about as amused with the jerseys as I am.
