Happy PI day everyone! Wayne at work alerted me to the existence of PI day, which falls on March 14 or 3.14. The plan today is to eat as much pie as possible. Stu and I plan to get some potato pie and beef pie from Guelph’s Caribbean Cuisine down the street from where we work for lunch, then scare up a slice of pie from one of the local restaurants. I will try to post some pics of our PI related adventures. Unfortunately the pie I have above probably won’t be on the menu, but then again, there’s always next year.

Here are the beef and potato pies that I got for lunch. Stu bailed on me, instead opting for a slice of pizza pie. I had never had the beef pie before and I can definitely say it was deelish. Even though they look exactly the same, I assure you they are actually filled with different contents. Guelph’s Caribbean Cuisine has a website, which is not so awesome, but I can excuse it given the food is so damn good.

Here are the pies Wayne brought in to celebrate pie day. There is Strawberry Rhubarb, Blueberry and Apple. My friend Kristina pointed out that today was steak and a BJ day as well, which is supposed to be the anti-Valentine’s Day. Unfortunately it’s rather unlikely I can celebrate steak and a BJ day given I’m going to a hockey game in Buffalo tonight. I’m not a fan of either the Buffalo Sabres or the Carolina Hurricanes, but I’m not one to pass up free hockey tickets. Instead of steak and a BJ I’ll probably end up with hot wings and heartburn at the HSBC(Hot Sauce and Blue Cheese) Arena.
