I went to go see Get Smart tonight. I really liked it. Having watched the show as a kid in reruns on YTV I think they did a really good job of picking up the essence of the original series while still adding something new and fresh to the presentation of it. Get Smart was funny and featured lots of good action sequences that I found came off pretty fresh while managing not to come off as too slapstick or heavy at any point. I found it just came off well on-screen.

I found the chemistry between Steve Carrell and Anne Hathaway got off to a bit of a rocky start, but by the end it seemed they both seemed like they were on the same page. I liked the rest of the cast as well. You had Hiro from Heroes, President Camacho from Idiocracy, Chancellor Valorum from The Phantom Menace, Azmat from Borat. It was just kind of amusing piecing together the cast and where you know them from. I look forward to seeing a sequel to this one and can only hope it’s as well put together as the first.
