I can’t say this is my area of expertise, but I’ll try and help. I found this thread about yahoo.co.uk and using outlook that might explain help you through some of the issues you are having.

hey i recently downloaded thunderbird to use as an email client but i couldnt get it to work with yahoo so i opened up a google mail acount which does work but i cant sync my two emails … i now have 3 instead of 2 email addresses
when i try to follow these steps i keep getting this

Email address: fireflask88@yahoo.co.uk
Server denied POP3 access for the given username and password.
Show error details Server returned error: “[AUTH] Error logging in. Please visit http://mail.yahoo.com”

do i need to change the port or something?

any help will be greatly appreciated

Check in your system preferences. There should be a Growl preference panel. In that there is a menu option called applications. Check if the Gmail notifier is showing up in there. If not try installing it again.

As for the notifications, just turn off “Display new message pop-up” and that will turn off the notifier one and leave just the Growl notification

how do i combine them so i only get one notification..through growl…im “mocking” thro the settings….not finding something that helps

im not getting notifications through growl…only through google notifier. the pop up window that is supposed to appear with growl isnt coming up. Only the black one with google notifier. i tested it a few times by emailing myself.

I think you have to muck with the settings. I think there is a preference in the menu at the top right of the screen that will allow you to just use Growl notifications.

I downloaded growl and i downloaded google notifier for gmail….in my applications tab in growl, google notifier doesnt appear. I got my first email in gmail and i saw that growl notified me, but i still have google notifier on the top notifying me as well. I just want one icon. how do i use growl for everything? What is twitter?
